Welter In Thy Blood/The Grim Visage Of Death/Black Goat Records/2008 EP Review

Welter In Thy Blood are a band from Los Angeles, California that plays a very depressive and suicidal form of black metal mixed in with some funeral doom metal and this is a review of their 2008 ep "The Grim Visage Of Death" which was released by Black Goat Records.

Drums are all slow playing with not much in the way of fast playing or blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the sound effects they bring a dark ambient feeling to the music.

Rhythm guitars are slow slow riffs that combine suicidal/depressive black metal with funeral doom and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are mostly distorted sounding high pitched black metal screams mixed in with some spoken word parts and deep demonic growls, while the lyrics cover misanthropy and suicide, as for the production it has a very dark heavy, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion Welter In Thy Blood are a very great suicidal black metal/funeral doom hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band.
