Glorior Belli/The Great Southern Darkness/Metal Blade Records/3 Song Sampler Review

Glorior Belli are a band from France that plays a very violent and brutal form of black metal with an experimental edge and this is a review of a 3 song sampler of "The Great Southern Darkness" which will be released by Metal Blade Records in the next couple of months.

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing sounds very strong and powerful with riffs that combine the harshest black metal with psychedelic and stoner rock elements.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast brutal black metal riffs that experiment with psychedelic, stoner rock and other forms of music to create a very original sound while the lead guitars are very 70's influenced bluesy/stoner rock guitar leads and solos.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams with some clean singing stoner rock vocals being used on the 3rd song, while the lyrics touch on Satanism, Luciferian and Negativity, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments while retaining a raw black metal edge.

In my opinion this is a good sampler from Glorior Belli that sounds a lot different than the music I have heard from them and while this might be a let down to some of their more hardcore fans and the fact that it is coming out on Metal Blade, I still feel these songs sound good and if you are looking for something that is original in black metal, you should check this album out when it comes out. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Sacred Ride To Rebellon". RECOMMENDED
